We are also able to facilitate Paralympic shooting at WTSC.
While the majority of shooting remains the same here- competition timings, formats, etc, Paralympic shooting provides access to additional equipment supports where an athlete may be unable to support the firearm by themselves or be competing from a sitting position.
Paralympic equipment is typically tailored to suit the individual but we also have basic supports for beginners to start off and build toward a more advanced level where personalised equipment would benefit them most.
Paralympic shooting is one of the most popular events and growing rapidly. The events are split into SH1, SH2 and Visually impaired shooting. SH1 and SH2 separate individuals who can support the firearms themselves and those who cannot, with a number of sub categories involved to determine what additional supports may be used. Prior to getting involved, we can arrange for the national classifier to determine which category you fit into.
Para shooting can be shot side by side with Olympic shooting so we don’t separate competitions or training for this.
